Pearl of the Orient - Day 3 (Sunday))

Sunday, was greeted with hubby's voice trying hard to wake me and Suresh. It is simply delighful to wake up to the beautiful fact that the only thing you are doing that day is RELAXING. We had breakfast and drove to the island. Today is going to be the 'visiting friends' day.

Our first stop was at Omar and Shereen's place. Quite a couple they are! The kind that makes everybody feel at home and at ease with each other. We has fish curry for lunch and heated conversations over the recent political and economical happenings, while waiting for the rain to stop its shower. Later in the afternoon, we said goodbye and headed to the bridge to cross over to mainland. But we realised that would be impossible as soon as seeeing the stand still traffic jam, kilometeres away from the bridge. Thinking that we are smart, we headed to the jetty in the hope of catching the ferry but the same jam confronted us there also. So, we came up with an alternative plan of going bowling and then trying the bridge again later in the evening, hoping the jam would have eased.

Bukit Jambul was our bowling destination and that was my first experience at the game. I received some tips from hubby and Suresh, but before long I was bowling them over with my phenomenal debut. I won the game and both the men were tormented with my ridicules. The traffic on the bridge was quite clear, as we had anticipated, and we crossed the straits to the main land and headed to another friend's place. We spend less than an hour there before getting a birthday cake for Suresh's sister and heading back to Sungai Petani. Once there, we held a suprise party for Suresh's sister and had dinner there. After which, we headed back to Suresh's place.

I think the best part of the day was what came after that. We had long soul searching conversations about relationships, love, marriage and life in general. That lasted way past midnight (along with the dawn of our first marriage anniversary). Just before calling it a day, we headed to a nearby mamak shop for maggie noodle soup and retired for the day.
