I was due to fly to Kuching on Thursday (20th Sept) at 8.15am by Air Asia. Around 3.30pm the day before, I got an sms from Air Asia informing that my flight has been rescheduled. Panic began to set in. I am very aware of Air Asia's infamous flight delays ( I was delayed 3 hours to Cambodia) but a 'reschedule' sms, now that's new to me. I quickly called the customer service and was told that both my departure and returning flights have been resheduled. No reasons given even when asked. Well, can't complaint much for the very low prices. Anyway, Air Asia very kindly schduled me in to other times, without the etxra charges. How can the sales assistant even mention about charging me, I am not the one to cancel and reschedule! Hell, I bit my toungue and thanked her for her royal kindness.
That was just the first of a pendulum of happenings. As I was packing up the camera the the day before night, I tried swithing it on and realised that I couldn't. My husband's attempt at pushing this and that button also failed. We rused to the shop from where we got the camera but alas, it has to be sent to the factory. Oh my god! Going for a trip without a camera, an absolute no no for me. My husband calls me a photo frantic. I capture all. So, to create some flexibility in my life, I told my husband that we will go to Kuching camera-less. He wasn't convinced. He offered to go to my aunt's place to get her camera. I stood my ground. 'Our eyes are the best lenses ever. Sometimes you get too busy snapping away, you fail to enjoy the moment as it is'. These were my words to him, more or less. I never regretted not taking my camera with me....oh bull, I did, many times. The eyes are good lenses but they get foggy quickly. Photographs can be kept and remembered later on.
Next came the challenge of getting a cab to the airport. It was so damn expensive to get a cab from Puchong to LCCT - RM65. Wow! That's more expensive that my flight (minus the airport taxes of course). Rang up a few people, got a few numbers, called a few cab services and at last settled for one. Rm65, ha ha ha
The next post will continue with my rendezvous in the Cat City.
